That is worth protecting.
EUSD students significantly outperform the state average in both English and mathematics. That success belongs to our teachers and staff. The board's job is to give them what they need and then stay out of the way of good teaching.
I ran four years ago on fiscal responsibility, academic excellence, and real engagement with our community. I am running again because that work is not finished, and because the decisions ahead — facilities, compensation, and enrollment — will shape this district for the next decade.
I spend my working life advising Fortune 100 companies on operations and budgets. On a school board that is not an abstract skill. It is the difference between strategies that hold up under scrutiny and ones that do not.
What we accomplished in my first term
Hired a new superintenent
Took part in the search and selection that brought new leadership to the district.
Strengthened programs
Protected and expanded STEAM, GATE, arts, music, and athletics across our campuses.
Invested in our educators
Approved competitive compensation to attract and keep excellent teachers in a difficult hiring market.
Built long-term facilities plan
Advanced our 5-year architectural plan to keep our campuses safe, modern, and ready for the students who come next.

Academic Excellence
Protect what is working. Our results are the envy of the region and they are not an accident. Keep the focus on classroom outcomes.
Fiscal Responsibility
Every dollar traced to a classroom outcome. Long-range planning instead of year-to-year patching.
Engagement and Transparency
Parents, teachers, and staff should hear about decisions before they are made, not after. That means real notice, real agendas, and real answers
About Matt
My wife and I have raised our four children in Granite Bay for more than a decade. Our days look like everyone else's here: school drop-off, the swimming pool, the soccer field, the dance studio, homework at the kitchen table.
I grew up in the Upper Midwest and earned degrees in economics and finance from Arizona State University. I own a management consulting firm advising Fortune 100 companies on operations and supply chain, and I have served on the Eureka Union School District Board of Trustees since 2024.
Serving on this board has taught me that the best decisions start with listening — to the principal who knows her campus, the teacher who knows her students, and the parent who noticed something the district missed.

Three seats on the Eureka Union School District Board are open this November, and I'm proud to be running alongside fellow Trustee Jeff Conklin and parent Steve Berry.
